This book is about how pictures tell stories. It is my bachelor thesis and a theoretical work about pictures and illustrations in children’s books. By analysing several children’s books I tried to figure out what effects those pictures can have on children and how they perceive the different styles of the illustrations. In addition I asked several international children’s book illustrators about their work and about the techniques they use to create their images. These interviews and some illustrations are featured in this thesis.
